Alcohol and Energy Drinks A Dangerous Combo, Study Says

Researchers have published a study that shows college students combining caffeinated drinks with booze don’t realize how intoxicated they really are.

In a study published in the Journal of Adolescent Health, researchers at the Institute for Social Research at the University of Michigan have concluded that mixing alcohol and energy drinks poses a serious public health risk, especially among college students. "We found that college students tended to drink more heavily, become more intoxicated, and have more negative drinking consequences on days they used both energy drinks and alcohol, compared to days they only used alcohol," said Megan Patrick, a research assistant professor and co-author of the study.
According to the study, students who either drank alcohol and energy drinks on the same day or who combined the two at the same time wound up spending more time drinking – thus consuming more alcohol – than they would have without the caffeinated drinks. The result of spending more hours drinking raised users' blood alcohol levels to higher peaks. But because of the stimulant effects of the energy drinks, the users reported that they felt less drunk than they actually were. "This can have serious potential health impacts, for example if people don't realize how intoxicated they actually are and decide to drive home," Patrick said.
But a similar study conducted by the Department of Community Health at the Boston University School of Public Health found that it wasn’t necessarily the combination of alcohol and caffeine that posed a risk, but the profile of the drinkers themselves that led to negative consequences. "It appears that the consumption of caffeinated alcoholic beverages has a direct effect on increasing risk by masking intoxication and making it easier for youth to consume more alcohol,” said Dr. Michael Siegel, one of the authors of the Boston University’s study. “It also appears that consumption of alcohol with caffeine may itself be a marker for youth who engage in riskier behavior.”

Jonathan Conceding Defeat, a Legacy for African Continent, Says Ouattara

  • Meets Buhari, pledges cooperation on regional integration
  • President-elect commends Jonathan for preventing post-election crisis

President of Cote d’Ivoire, Allassan Outtara, monday said the  Nigerian presidential election which President Goodluck Jonathan, an incumbent, lost and conceded defeat to an opposition and president-elect, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rtd), would continue to remain a great legacy for the African continent.
Ouattara, who paid a private visit to Jonathan at the Presidential Villa, told State House correspondents that the refusal of an incumbent president in his country, Laurent Gbagbo, to relinquish power five years ago, led to the loss of over 3,000 lives in a needless civil war.
He recalled that himself and his team were locked up in a hotel for four and half months,  without food and water for days.
The Ivorian president noted that Jonathan has won his admiration for that singular act of conceding defeat.
He stressed that Jonathan’s decisions did not come as a surprise, because he (Jonathan)   had always demonstrated he was more West African than Nigerian by his contributions in quelling the crisis in Mali,  Guinea Bissau, and Togo.
Ouattara added that avoiding violence and civil war when  any elections is held in Africa, should be the objective of leaders of African.
“I came on a private visit to see my friend and brother and to congratulate the Nigerian people for the conduct of the presidential election. On May 29, there will be inauguration and swearing-in of the President-elect Muhammadu Buhari. So I wanted to tell you (Jonathan) that we appreciate the leadership we have received from you during all these years.
“Mr. President, you know about five years ago Cote d’ Ivoire had presidential elections and I won the election and the incumbent president decided not to leave office. This brought a civil war and 3,000 people were killed and we were put in hotel and under the protection of the United Nations for about four and half months. There were days we could not even have food or water because the hotel had been barricaded and encircled by the former president and it was only after four and half months of imprisonment in the hotel that we were able to leave the hotel after the former president was caught and finally left office for me to take over.
“I am saying this to say that what happened in Nigeria is a lesson to all of us, please accept my admiration. I think avoiding violence, avoiding civil war when we have elections in Africa should be our most objective. People are more important than power. And Mr. President, my good friend, I’m not surprised by what you did, and I wanted to congratulate you, congratulate the Nigerian people, congratulate the president-elect, this election in Nigeria is a legacy for the African countries and I think we owe you a lot in ECOWAS.
“I will like to also say that for two years, I was chairman of ECOWAS after you and we had to deal with very difficult issues like the wars in Mali, the terrorist implementation in northern Nigeria, the problem in Guinea Bissau, the problems in Togo. You were always present. For us, you are a West African before being a Nigerian and we thank you for what you did for West Africa.
“And we also were together to set up the partnership agreement with the European Union and only West Africa has been able to do this.
“My brother, you have shown support to me during the difficult years I went through, you have shown friendship to me all these years and so I want to tell you thank you,” Ouattara said.
The Ivoriant President who also met with t Buhari at a closed - door meeting at the VIP Lounge of the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport in Abuja, offered to collaborate with the country’s new leadership on regional integration and development. “I have come to Nigeria to congratulate my brother the president-elect for his brilliant election and to let him know that the process of this election has effect on all of us in African countries, the peaceful process is a lesson for all African countries.
“You will recalled that in my own country in 2010 when we had the presidential election, the former president did not want to leave office and this led to civil war with 3,000 people killed, so we are very proud of the Nigerian people,” he said.
Speaking on the outlook of the incoming administration, the Ivorian president said he would like to see more collaboration between Nigeria and his country in the area of regional integration.
“I came to congratulate my brother, Buhari, and to tell him that my country and Nigeria will work hand in hand for stronger integration of the West African region.
“Nigeria is very important to all of us and I think I met Buhari a few years back, we will continue to work together to make sure that the West African region and the people of the region seek more prosperity and better lives,” he said.
Buhari who arrived at the  meeting at about 6.30p.m. joined Ouattara in commending President Jonathan for his action in preventing post-election crisis.
Speaking on his discussion with Ouattara, Buhari said: “All I did was to thank him very much for coming to congratulate us and I think more specifically is to congratulate President Jonathan for his statesmanship because President Ouattara referred to his own experience where he was under siege for more than four months because his predecessor refused to acknowledge his winning. In Nigeria the opposite happened, hence we are enjoying the peace, so I specifically congratulate President Jonathan for his statesmanship.”
Ouattara was driven into the Lounge along with the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Musilu Obanikoro.

Toddler Kidnapped in Lagos Church

Children, it appears, have become endangered species, as they seem to be the new target of evil-minded persons who are on the prowl looking for any vulnerable and unguarded one to kidnap.
Barely four days after the three Orekoya kids were rescued after an eight-day ordeal in the kidnapper’s den, another toddler was on Sunday abducted in Lagos, this time from a church.
The little girl, who was identified as Oluwabunmi Ajelero, was abducted by unknown persons at her parents’ church in Ojuelegba Road, Surulere, Lagos.
According to a message, which has since gone viral, the little girl was kidnapped at the end of the church service at Surulere Baptist Church, 52/54, Ojuelegba Road, Surulere.
The text read thus: "Our 3-year-old girl, Oluwabunmi Ajelero, got missing today at Surulere Baptist Church 52/54, Ojuelegba road, Surulere.
"Strange men walked into the premises and took her away on a bike through Nathan Street, off Ojuelegba.
"Please help us, our hearts are broken, we're crying with heavy hearts. We don't know what to do anymore.
"Please if you see this child in anyway, kindly call any of these numbers 08022289455, 07085678831, 08098230603, or 08023036852."
When contacted via one of the numbers, the brother of the victim's father, Mr. Adeniran Adejuwon, said the kidnappers had contacted them, asking for millions of naira as ransom.
In an exclusive interview with THISDAY he said: "The kidnappers have contacted us and they are demanding millions of naira as ransom but I don't want to speculate on the exact figure.
"They allowed the father of the baby to speak with her so we know she is alive. As regarding the ransom, we are negotiating with them."
On how the kidnappers were able to abduct the girl despite the crowd in the church, he said: "The service was winding down and while some children were playing, others were trying to locate their parents.
"We were not there when it happened but one of the children that first saw the stranger was a nine-year-old. According to him, the stranger walked into the church and snatched my niece.
"When the children raised alarm because he was an unfamiliar face, he ran out where his accomplice was waiting for him on a commercial motorcycle and they sped away.
"We could not catch up with them so we reported the matter to Area C Police Command, where we made our statements and they have begun to search for her."
Meanwhile, days after they arrested the nanny behind the kidnap of the Orekoya kids, Funmilayo Adeyemi, the Lagos State Police Command are yet to nab the remaining members of the gang.
Although it is not yet clear how close they are to arresting the trio who are still at large —Adeyemi's husband, Waheed Kareem; his brother and his wife, Akeem and Joke Oseni — the command is keeping mum on the next line of action.
A text message sent to the state Police Public Relations Officer, Kenneth Nwosu, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, on the issue, got no response even after two days.

Bakare Urges Buhari to Shun ‘Our Turn’ Politics, Appoint Technocrats

The Convener of the Save Nigeria Group (SNG), Pastor Tunde Bakare, has advised the incoming president, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) to ensure that he appoints technocrats into strategic positions in his government, just as he urged him to shun ‘it is our turn’ politics.
Bakare, made the veiled remark to the president-elect, while speaking among a set of panellists at Wema Bank Plc’s 70th anniversary commemorative lecture titled: “Why Nations Succeed,” that took place in Lagos monday.
According to Bakare, although several nations have been commending the outcome of Nigeria’s recently concluded presidential elections, the “undercurrents in the nation today is the idea that it is ‘our turn.’”
He added: “We just have to wait for few weeks to see how things would go. I pray that the north that has been out of power for some time will not say, ‘now it is our turn,’ whether we would see round pegs in square holes and begin to attract incompetent people. The most competent, the fittest and people with capacity and ideas should be the ones to go for.
“It would look beautiful to put things together if you have the mind to do it and if you have the right people to occupy these places, regardless of their religion, regardless of their agenda and what part of the country they are from, as long as they are able to deliver what would bring us out of this backwardness.”
According to Bakare: “It is the choices that you make that will make you poor or rich. We must make the right choices as we have the opportunity now. We have campaigned on ‘change,’ Nigerians have trusted us on ‘change,’ but I want to look at those that would be the agents of the change.  The choices we made in the past are the cause of the consequences we are dealing with today,” he added.
On her part, the Co-convener of the Bring Back Our Girls group, Mrs. Oby Ezekwesili, stressed the need for the building of lasting institutions in the country.
According to the former Minister of Education, institutions are accumulated practices based on common sense of shared purpose and destination.
“What we have seen in that in institution building, there is the supply and demand side of the matter. So, in our society, we have had supply side activities for building institutions, but we have not seen the commensurate demand activities. It is the demand activities of the citizens of any society that would push the frontiers of the extractors, who monopolise power. But when the citizens are completely disengaged, nobody will do it for them. So, we need to become active participants in governance.
“There is need for strong institutions that are functional, that thrive on the rule of law, that are predictable in the way they behave. Also, there is need for sound macro-economic policies and then effective and efficient investments, whether public investments or private sector investments. These are the framework for economic growth.
“We have serious issues of poor governance of resources, so that public investment don’t end up producing the kind of output we produce because of the quality of individuals. So, what quality of individuals are involved in the process of institution building?” she aske.
Earlier, the guest lecturer, who is the co-author of the book: “Why Nations Fail,” Prof. James Robinson, noted that the failure of Nigerian leaders and other African leaders to organise their economies the way they should be were responsible for the poor output and slow pace of development by the continent.
According to Robinson, Nigeria had suffered from a long history of exploitative and extractive institutions. However, he acknowledged that since 1999 when the country returned to democracy, it has recorded a lot of progress economically as well as the strengthening of some institutions due to reforms.
He stressed the need for inclusiveness for any nation to attain its potential.
“All countries which now have inclusive institutions, historically had extractive institutions,” he said.
Also, the Dean, of Lagos Business School of the Pan-Atlantic University, Mrs. Enase Okonebo, noted that for any nation to develop, it has to focus on education, saying that Nigeria is one of the poorest in terms of out-of-school children.
In his remark, a former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos, Prof. Oyewusi Ibidapo-Obe, said “we need to dislodge the elites from their comfort zones.”

Ondo Deaths Linked to Poisonous Gin

Fidelis Nwankwo
  • State govt calls for suspension of local gin consumption
Paul Obi in Abuja̢۬
The death of the 18 people in Ondo State in a mysterious circumstance has been linked to a local gin, otherwise known as ‘Ogogoro,’ that was contaminated with poisonous material (methanol).
The Minister of State for Health, Fidelis Nwankwo, stated this at a media briefing in Abuja, monday.
He said: “At this stage, the particular poisonous substance (toxin) is being ascertained. The results of these detailed investigations currently being conducted by government and partners are still being awaited and will be made public as soon as possible.”
Also, the World Health Organisation (WHO) has denied ever issuing any statement on the mysterious deaths.
According to the minister, “Epidemiological findings indicate a strong linkage of the outbreak with the consumption of a local gin that may have been contaminated with methanol (poisonous material).
“The assuring news however, is that no new cases have been reported in the past 100 hours and no new mortality in the last 72 hours.
“We therefore believe that the situation is under control and that the stability will be sustained, while active case search and contact tracing continue in earnest.
“However, if any suspected case is found, it should be reported to the nearest health centre for prompt investigation and treatment.”
While noting that preliminary laboratory investigations indicated that the outbreak cannot be attributed to any infectious organism (bacterial or viral), Nwankwo further said the outbreak was also clearly not due to Ebola Virus Disease, as feared by many.
The minister assured the public that the federal government shall continue to exercise diligence to prevent its re-occurrence or that of any other public health risks in any part of the country and that the government shall ensure rapid response to any events of public health concern which the system in place timely detects.
Nigerians have therefore been enjoined to remain calm but very vigilant and to report any events of public health concern to the nearest health facility or health authorities.
He further advised that people should not panic or take any action inimical to their comfort, well-being or business based on false information or rumour.
Speaking, the Country Representative of the WHO, Dr Rui Gama Vaz, denied issuing any statement on the disease.
He also tasked the federal and Ondo State Government to find the cause of the disease.
While disclaiming the statement being circulated in the country in the name of WHO, Vaz said: “I did not, nor my office, make any statement. What we have agreed is that if there is any statement, this will be done together jointly by the Federal Ministry of Health and the WHO as we did for Ebola, as we did when we eradicated Guinea Worm, and all other diseases. So, this is not correct, the information that has been circulating about the disease is not from WHO Country office of Nigeria.”
While sending condolences to the families of the bereaved and sick, Vaz commended both Ondo State and federal governments for their efforts on the ailment so far.
“What is important in this situation is to make sure that we know the causes. Unless we have the final diagnosis from the lab, everything is a potential cause. So, the key issue is that the lab is taking the necessary action to identify the cause. The other important aspect that was clear was that it had nothing to do with viral diseases or any bacteria.”
Meanwhile, the state government has called for the suspension of the consumption of ‘Ogogoro’ by the public, particularly residents of the communities where deaths have been recorded in Irele Local Government Area following the discovery a strange disease in the area which has killed about 16 people so far.
At a press briefing addressed jointly by the state’s Commissioners for Health and Information, Dr. Dayo Adeyanju and Kayode Akinmade in Akure yesterday, the government said the result of medical findings linked the deaths to methanol poisoning contrary to the report of pesticide.  The government warned members of the public against consumption of   Ogogoro and other herbal mixture pending the discovery of the root cause of the disease.
The state government confirmed that the figure of the dead still remains at 18 while five people are receiving treatment at  the University Teaching Hospital Ibadan.
It maintained that the disease was not infectious, noting that the Ministries of Health and Information would continue to sensitise the public on the disease with a view to allaying unnecessary fear, even as  the State Commissioner for Information, Akinmade enjoined the media to keep enlightening the public through accurate information dissemination.
Meanwhile, WHO office in the state yesterday  denied media reports that the Irele death was  caused by pesticide.
The  the state Coordinator of the WHO Dr. Akinola Fatiregun, made the clarification at  a press briefing in Akure.
He said the clinical feature and diagnosis carried out suggest edmethanol poisoning as the cause of the mysterious deaths.
Fatiregun said the WHO’s office in Abuja  was prepared to properly address the press on the issue, stressing that what his office was able to detect was methanol poisoning as the reason for the deaths in the affected communities.

Ondo X: Ebola Experts Test Mysterious Ondo Disease...And The Results Are Even More Troubling

Premium Times confirms that laboratory tests have been carried out on the strange disease in Ode-Irele community in Ondo state, (now called #OndoX).

Among other things, the results say this disease is definitely not Ebola.

Ebola Alert has sent out a Twitter saying: #OndoX samples tests negative for Ebola Virus, Yellow Fever, Lassa Fever Virus, Rift Valley Fever Virus, Dengue Virus, West Nile Virus.”

The samples are “currently undergoing toxicology screen," it added.

It will be remembered that five days ago, news of a deadly disease that kills its victims within 24 hours broke out, and so far, no fewer than 28 people have fallen to the virus.

It gets more puzzling. If this isn't Ebola, Yellow Fever or the other deadly half-dozens, what is killing these people?

Boko Haram: My Govt will Continue Collaboration with Niger, Chad, Cameroun, Says Buhari

Muhammadu Buhari

Michael Olugbode in Maiduguri̢۬
The president-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd), has said his government will continue to collaborate with the neighbouring Camerounian, Nigerien and Chadian governments in the ongoing war against the Boko Haram insurgency.
Buhari disclosed this during a visit on him by the government and people of Borno State, the state which is hardest hit by the Boko Haram insurgency.
According to a statement yesterday by the Special Adviser to the state governor on Media, Mallam Isa Gusau, the president-elect at a congratulatory visit on him by the state delegate which included the state governor, Alhaji Kashim Shettima; the Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Abubakar Ibn Garbai Elkanemi and some elders, said he was very much aware of the problems of the North-east and would not waste time in taking them up one after the other.
Gusau said Buhari during the visit, promised that his administration would enhance collaboration with the neighbouring governments of Chad, Niger and Cameroun to curtail the trans-border movement of Boko Haram insurgents, cut supply of arms, cut recruitment and training of fresh recruits.
The president-elect, according to him, said stability of the North-east was a must project for his administration, insisting that nothing can be achieved unless peace was restored to the troubled region.
He also promised to focus on re-activating the Lake Chad in addition to deploying enormous resources to resume vigorous search for oil along the Chad Basin in parts of Borno State.
The president-elect also assured the delegation that the receding Lake Chad would be addressed through the transfer of water from the Central African Republic to the lake to boost commercial activities for fishing and irrigation farming.
He recalled that he once read a document raising fears about the receding of the Lake Chad which he handed over to then President Olusegun Obasanjo but now that he would be coming as president, he would handle the matter, insisting that . the lake has the potentials to create millions of jobs through irrigation and many other commercial activities.
Buhari, who acknowledged delays in oil exploration activities in the Chad Basin,  said he was very much aware of exploration activities in the area since 1978 as Minister of Petroleum.
He also said he had visited a site in Borno State when he was Head of State to assess exploration activities, maintaining that he was very conversant with the issue and would take it up as president when he settles in office.
He said he had many years ago, suggested the need to take the search for oil in the north seriously not only to increase the export potentials on Nigeria but also to balance cross regional perceptions and manage agitations so as to enhance the stability of the country.
The president-elect promised to pay special attention to the economic potentials of the North-east so as to make it attractive for investments.
Governor Shettima who led the delegation from the state in company of all traditional rulers, elders, elected national and state assembly members and other stakeholders,  had earlier disclosed that they were at the resident of the president-elect to congratulate him on his historic victory at the polls and to also remind him of the problems affecting the state which he already knew.
The governor said the people of Borno feel so much attached to Buhari given his background as someone that served as Military Governor in the state.
He said the citizens looked up to him with so much hope because the president elect was very much familiar with the problems of the state and how it has suffered in the last six years owing to massive killings of its people and extreme destructions of communities and public institutions.
He pleaded with the incoming president to pay special attention to the affairs of the state.
The Shehu of Borno appealed to the president-elect  to consider making the federal government take over the welfare of youths volunteers fighting insurgency in the state.
The monarch noted that the state government has been spending so much on that in addition to huge expenditures in managing the Boko Haram insurgency.
He also appealed for Buhari’s intervention on the resumption of commercial airlines to Maiduguri International Airport, which was suspended for over a year now.

Okonjo-Iweala Underpins Nigeria’s Progress on Economic, Political Consensus

Okonjo Iweala
  •   Says pressure from state governments contributed to little oil revenue savings
Chineme Okafor in Abuja̢۬
For Nigeria to continue to move forward in her overall development trajectory, the Coordinating Minister for the Economy and Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, has said it will have to fashion out and embrace both an economic and a political consensus on her development going forward.
Okonjo-Iweala, who spoke recently at the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), a United States-based independent, non-partisan membership organisation, explained that it was important for the country to immediately articulate an economic and a political consensus, the kind that could put the federating units and actors on the same page.
Obviously speaking from the federal government’s experience with managing excess revenues from the sale of crude oil when the market price per barrel was high, Okonjo-Iweala counselled the incoming government of Muhammadu Buhari to strive to develop the political will to save excess money from sale of crude oil when the price climbs slightly higher than expected.
In a transcript of her discussion at the CFR which THISDAY obtained in Abuja, she said for example that the present government of President Goodluck Jonathan could not extract from the state governments a buy-in on its rationale for saving excess crude oil revenues, hence the constant clamour for monies saved in the Excess Crude Account (ECA) to be shared.
The minister posited that such pressure from the state governments ensured that too little was saved from crude oil sales when the price was high and favourable to Nigeria.
“It’s very interesting when I hear people, you know, sort of talk about the lack of savings. There’s a very clear reason. The political will from the decentralised units, the states, to save this money was completely absent.
I mean every time we had the National Economic Council, chaired by the vice-president, the issue was let us divide the money, because the constitution, Section 162, they used to cite, says that all monies that come to the federation account must be shared. Some of them were lawyers, some were other professions, and they were very clear,” Okonjo-Iweala said.
She further noted: “But Section 16 of our constitution says that the federal government shall manage the economy to the benefit of the country. So, under Section 16 we tried to say the benefit of the country is to save this money so we can use it, but under 162 it said all the monies, so this is something that Nigeria needs to resolve, this seeming contradiction of which a section overrides the other.”
The minister added that regardless of the administration’s capacity to save up to $9 billion in 2013, there was still a sustained pressure from state governments to have the money shared amongst the federating units.
“We did manage against all odds to save up to $9 billion by the end of 2013. But because of this pressure, most of the monies were shared and the balance was used to pay for the oil subsidies.
Now the last point I want to make on this, because people need to understand why is it that oil prices were high and Nigeria did not save? Was this a mark of irresponsibility? What happened? This is the true story of what happened. So that is why we do not have savings now,” she explained.
Speaking on the need for a broader approach to sustaining Nigeria’s progress, she said: “Going forward, it’s very important for the new government to build up political will, that if oil prices even climb slightly higher, the country has to save.”

“We made that point six, seven, eight, nine times. In fact, it got so bad I stopped going to the meetings of the National Economic Council, because each time I appeared, the first thing is, what is the statement of the Excess Crude Account? Why haven’t, what are you doing with the money? Let’s share it. You understand? So I stopped going, so they wouldn’t even see me. The vice-president used to joke that this is not a strategy that is sustainable.
We need a consensus for the country, an economic consensus, a political consensus going forward. We didn’t have it, and we were not able to do that. We need it now moving forward,” the minister said.
In response to a question on whether it is an opportunity or a burden at this point for Nigeria to discontinue with petrol subsidy, Okonjo-Iweala said: “This is a golden opportunity to do that. It is a highly political issue.
I think under the first time I was finance minister it would’ve been easier. The second time, it became a huge issue. So I do hope that the new government will tackle this head-on, because I think they’ve got the ambience or they can generate it with which to use, take advantage of this opportunity.”

Ondo Mysterious Disease Came From Exhumed Corpse - Commissioner

According to Kayode Akinmade, the Ondo state commissioner for information and strategy, all 14 deaths recorded in Ode Irele, Ondo state, from a “strange” ailment are directly connected to an exhumed corpse in the community, the Cable reports.

He said the disease was not the same as Ebola Virus Disease (EVD), although it had managed to kill its victims in less than 24 hours.

“All the necessary facility that government should provide, government has done that. We have moved all the ambulances and everything.” he said.

He added that although there were claims that as many as 34 people had died, only 14 people had fallen victim of the strange disease.

American Researchers Say Nigerian Herbal Drug Can Cure Cancer

Nigeria - American researchers at the Texas Southern University in Houston have provided evidence that SAABFAT6, a Nigerian-C2-herbal drug may prevent the growth of cancer cells, Leadership reports.

The researchers, Syntia Ekwende and Momoh Yakubu said E2-80-9CSAABFAT6 shows that cancer can succumb to the power of researched drug combinations from the herbal centre.

This preliminary result indicated that SAABFAT6 supplement may have a potential for the regulation of HT29 growth and survival. Further study is required to identify the mechanism by which the anti- proliferative and cytotoxic effects of SAABFAT-6 is mediated, the researchers said earlier in his remarks

Amodu, who is also the director and chief researcher of the centre, disclosed that similar researches were carried out in the Nigerian Institute of Pharmaceutical Research and Development, which, according to him, showed that his product combination has remedy for cancer.

The herbal product, SAABFAT6, listed by NAFDAC and produced by a Nigerian phytho-medicinal researcher in collaboration with Halamin Herbal Centre, was the focus of a recent study at the US Research Centre.

How to rock an all black ensemble|The Kim and Kanye west hack

How to rock an all black ensemble|The Kim and Kanye west hackTurning up in an all black outfit might seem a little bit off for some occasions, but you can look classy in an all black ensemble if you know how to combine the right pieces. In this article we will examine Kim and Kanye West, one of America’s power fashion couples. The celebrity couple are known for making fashion statements by wearing mono-colored outfits.
black8
Kanye’s style goes from high street to versatile as he tends to show off his taste for high cut bootsand sport shoes in his all black ensembles. One thing to look out for in a kanye west outfit is his coat, mostly a black fur or leather coat, kanye’s outfit is never complete without one.
black10
Never look down at kanye unless you are looking down at his shoes. Kanye is a lover of boots as it seems, owning to his Hip-Hop background. He also wears dress shoes when the occasion demands it.
black9
